Panchmukhi (Five-Faced) Avatar of Lord Hanuman symbolizes all five directions. His five faces are said to symbolize East, West, North, South and Up direction. Lord Hanuman Face or Eastern face is a monkey face which is supposed to have radiance compared to a thousand suns.
Hanuman is worshipped on account of his unwavering devotion towards Rama, and is remembered for the selfless devotion that he had towards the God. Hanuman is also considered the physical example of the Karma Yogi (someone whose meditation and devotion manifest as hard work or service).
